IPQuorum 2021: How Innovative Technology is Changing the World Today

What is technology’s impact on the development of music and museums? What will theaters of the future be like? Will Deepfake technology become a blessing? Why non-interchangeable tokens (NFT, Non-Fungible Token) become a new virtual type of asset? Speakers and participants of the second day of IPQuorum 2021: Tech for Content will tackle these issues on April 27 at the Skolkovo Innovation Center Technology Park. Speakers and participants will also discuss why the creative industries market is growing so rapidly, becoming more attractive to investors and global partners.

The second day of the Forum will be devoted to sustainable market technologies. It will start with a plenary session titled "Securing finances by IP assets. Investments, loans, crowdfunding, crowdlending.” Securing loans with intellectual property assets is becoming more and more relevant.  Loans secured by intellectual property assets are becoming more and more relevant. However, investors and banks are still skeptical towards pledging IP as collateral. Overall, it slows down the process of attracting funding secured by IP assets for new projects.

Speakers of the next session will answer the question of how to solve the issue of mistrust of investors and banks, optimize business processes and establish a constructive discussion between content creators, customers, investors, and producers. Those invited to participate in the panel discussion include Sergey Matveev, President of the Intellectual Property Federation, Vitaly Polekhin, President of INVESTORO, Alexander Sukhotin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-Fi crowdsourcing platform, Zamir Shukhov, General Director and Partner of GVA, Alyona Kremer, Managing Partner of DPG Communications Agency Russia. The discussion will be moderated by Dmitry Ozman, development director of Forbes Russia.

The second plenary session “Time to Create. How to promote markets of the creative industries” will be focused on creativity as a survival strategy that helps people exist in the modern world.  Speakers will include Ekaterina Gaika, head of the "Creative Industries Agency", Sergey Selyanov, president of the Association of Film and Television Producers, Elena Zelentsova, chair of the Department for Territorial Development of the Russian Academy of Sciences, author of the book “Creative Industries: theories and practices,” Makar Kozhukhov, director of content of Okko multimedia service,  Ekaterina Udalova, deputy head of Center for innovation, technology and creative entrepreneurship of Yugra "My Business," and Igor Namakonov, CEO at the Federation of Creative Industries. The second session will be moderated by the director of Digital IP Ekaterina Chukovskaya.

The program of the Forum features four business blocks of content. The block titled “Applied Industries” will address the key questions in architecture, industrial design, fashion, cuisine, folk art, and crafts. The second business block of content will be dedicated to theater, music, film, animation, painting, gallery, and museums. Audiovisual content, VR/AR technologies, blogging, cartoons, and data processing will become a starting-point for discussions in the third and fourth blocks of content “Media and digital content.”

Applied Industries

Folk arts and crafts are getting a new life in the digital age. Panelists of the session "Handmade" creativity in global digital markets” will discuss the new ways to promote and generate revenue for your creative practice in applied arts. Speakers will include Gulnaz Kadyrova, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Varvara Zenina, founder of traditional-style clothing brand VARVARA ZENINA, Andrey Petrov, director of Voilok Valenki, Nikolai Zakharov, co-founder of Orenburgshal Artel, Evgeniya Arnautova, head of B2B communications at AliExpress Russia Alexei Kalachyov, CEO at the Moscow Export Center. The session will be moderated by Denis Kochergin, founder and president of the Masters Fair.

Panelists of the session "Brand portfolio: build and sell" will discuss how to generate revenue from your brand portfolio taking into consideration the protection of intellectual property and intangible assets. Dmitry Soloviev, Financial Director of Dodo Pizza Eurasia (Dodo Brands) will deliver the opening session talk. The session will be facilitated by Maria Kizima, head of the law department of Franchising-Intellect and CEO at AO Skaylit.

The partner session of Novy Vek Bank “Banking loans for Creative Industries” will focus on the dialogue between the author/entrepreneur in the creative and cultural sector and the bank to ensure crediting for further commercialization and development of their creative product. The speakers will include Alexander Anisov, Head of Treasury at Novy Century Bank, Kirill Nikitin, director of the Tax Policy Center at the Faculty of Economics at Lomonosov Moscow State University, and Valery Drobysh, general director of the StartUp Music label.

At the session titled "Competences of successful teams in the creative industries," panelists will talk about professional qualities essential for professionals in the creative industries. The panelists of the session are Ekaterina Morozova, Director of the Skolkovo Open University, Artyom Gabrelianov, founder of Bubble, Andrey Prokhorovich, General Director of Eurasia Development, Evgeniya Danilchenko, Head of Creative Industries Export Department of REC, Borislav Volodin, Director of National Open Championship for Creative Competences ArtMasters, Maria Lapuk, founder of PR-agency Vinci Agency will share their experiences on these questions. The moderator of the discussion is Elena Artemyeva, CEO at the Digital Valley Foundation.

Creative Industries

Presenters of the session “The digital gig: a new reality for concert activities'' will talk about how the lockdown changed the rules of the game in the music industry and how technology adoption affects concert life. The panelists -- Alexander Us, founder of Sila Sveta, Ilya Dybov, producer of MTS Live, Aleksey Volk, CEO of Lookport, Makar Kozhukhov, Director of Content Strategy at Okko, Valeria Brusnikina, CEO of FONMIX -- will discuss the applications of gamification technology in artists' gigs and the new ways to attract a wider audience. The role of digital technology in the transparency of the art market will become one of the central topics of the “Art-Chain” session. Ivan Karpushkin, director of Stolypin Center and a scientific adviser at the Institute of Digitization Challenges will be here to facilitate the event. The invited speakers include the calligrapher Pokras Lampas, the deputy director of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, the member of the presidium and chairman of the ICOM Russia Council for Museum Digital Development Vladimir Opredelyonov, the artist/deputy chairman of the Russian Federation of Creative Industries Veronika Ponomareva-Korzhevskaya, the founder of Disartive. art and CSHP.CLUB Olga Dvoretskaya, and co-founder of the NFT platform Rarible Aleksey Falin.

Media and Digital Content

The session "Black and White Lists of Digital Content" will be held under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Expert community will address critical issues of interaction between rights holders and a legal system. The speakers that are going to come to share their insider knowledge include Sergey Matveev, President of the Federation of Intellectual Property, Anna Saburkina, Executive Director of Sberbank Digital GR-Initiative Centre, Timofey Zaitsev, Managing Director and Head of Sberbank Digital GR-Initiative Centre, and Nikita Trynkin, Executive Vice-President of Star Media, will share their expertise on these issues, Pedro Simões Dias, intellectual property and IT consultant at Ferreira Pinto (Portugal), Anna Voitsekhovich, Director of Corporate Law Department at MTS, Anatoly Semyonov, Deputy Chairman of the RUIE Committee on Intellectual Property and Creative Industries.

Why have cats quickly become popular among the audiences and turned into effective participants of the media market? In a panel discussion “The Meow Factor: using cats’ paws to enter the digital paradise,” we will shed light on this phenomenon. Vyacheslav Dubynin, professor of the Faculty of Biology at Moscow State University, Luiza Sarsatskaya, representative of Medialogy, Tatiana Arefieva, head of museums at GRC Paradox, Ivan Krapivin, digital director of Depot branding agency, and bloggers Yulia Korsik and Ilya Ivanov will discuss how visual images affect the global advertising market.

The program of the second day will also offer a wide range of workshops. Those who keep track of digital engagement of the museum sector should attend a workshop of the Paradox director Tatiana Arefieva. At a workshop “Conveying meaning through Visual Objects,” attendees will be able to stay on top of recent advances in artificial intelligence. 

The producer and head of production agency Prophet Dmitry Kovalev will deliver a workshop in a form of performance titled "New aesthetics of business: visual content as a super idea for entrepreneurship. He will share with the public the secrets of creating visual images to contribute to successful business development.

The two days of IPQuorum will include more than 60 sessions, discussions and workshops. All workshops will be free for attendees and will be hosted at the specialized IPQlab platform.
